New York Look-Book
Welcome to An Abundance of Melanin
Before you get to know all the weird and wonderful things that make up me and my world, I thought I'd introduce myself to the blogger-verse with a combination of two of some ofmy passions which are travelling & fashion ... and what better way to show you than a trip to New York for my 21st.
I travelled to the big apple with my mum and auntie as a birthday treat for myself and momma as we had two big birthdays in the one year, a week apart to be exact.
So before jetting off, I did a big shopping haul on ASOS (aka my favourite place to shop, EVER) and luckily all but a few looked amazing for my trip. The haul included a variety of pieces from dresses, to jumpsuits which you will see down below. I was extremely lucky with the timing of my trip (end of August) as ASOS had a huge sale on their website which meant that I got all my items for about half the original price. As a student, sales & bargains make up my life and I can show you alllll the tricks in a later blogpost, so that we can all look FLY on a budget!
I do understand that winter is coming and this is pretty much a summer lookbook ... however, hopefully if you like an outfit, it can be recreated next year! Sadly, most of the items are now out of stock, but I will add the links to the pieces that are still in stock.
Top: ASOS oversized men's T-shirt (out of stock) Jeans: ASOS Mom Jeans (out of stock) Blue Bandana (I got this from Kenya as it goes for sooo cheap, but this one from Claire's is the same thing)
ASOS Design Floral Jumpsuit with Cutout and Tie Hairband: Primark
Topshop Monochrome Spot Pinafore Dress (sold out on the website however, there are loads on Depop!!)
Trousers: Adidas SST Track Pants
Shoes: Vans Classic Old Skool
My best advice for a city-break type of holiday is to keep your outfits super comfortable!! It is just the best thing ever when you can walk around for hours not wanting to change out of your outfit and you get more time to see all the incredible sights!!
Thank you so much for reading if you have reached the end of my first blog, stay tuned for more to come every Sunday night.
Until next time,
